Answering telephone calls
The following list of expressions are meant to be used when answering telephone calls. If the person calling actually wants to talk to you, just go ahead and talk! But what if the person asks something you are not capable of answering, or what if you are picking up someone else's phone? In those instances you might find the below enquiries and responses useful.
I have chosen to leave the Japanese part in kanji for training purposes, and also because it actually makes reading it faster when you get used to the words.

Some of the kanji might be hard to read for a beginner, especially note the pronunciations of the following words:
只今 = tadaima
以降 = ikou
折り返し = orikaeshi
暫く = shibaraku
宜しい = yoroshii
繋ぎ = tsunagi
後ほど = nochihodo
伝言 = dengon
